On April 22nd it was Earth Day 2018 so I decided to play around with some effects to see if I could create and orbit. Here is a couple of shape layers utilizing Adobe After Effects CC Sphere effect which warps a 2D layer into a 3D sphere but keeping it a 2D layer. I then place them into 3D space to create the depth to allow the Earth to appear as if its orbiting the sun. The moon took a little more work but it too is in 3D space and parented to the earth. Animating using position to give the orbiting effect again.
Only a couple of hours used to create this animation, it could obviously be improved with more time spent on it. However, at the moment I am working on constructing ideas and getting them created as and published as quickly as I can to force to work quicker while still maintaining quality.
